Title: How Requirements Management can benefit from the Semantic Web
Language: English
Target Group: Requirements Professionals/Managers, Technical Focus
Presenter: Florian Georg, IBM Switzerland
Abstract:

Glossaries are a key artefact in the requirements management discipline. By establishing and managing a common language through unambiguous term definitions, the understanding of the requirements increases across all stakeholders and roles.
However, glossaries are still subject to interpretations by "human" actors, and provide limited additional information for software delivery tools.
This session discusses how semantic web ontologies can be leveraged to support additional "reasoning" about concepts, and how these semantics can be used by software systems (e.g. tools) to provide additional intelligence, e.g. in the area of traceability across all domains and development artifacts, using technologies like RDF and OSLC.
